Hello! My name is Kara and I am passionate about helping students of all ages to build confidence and achieve their goals. I hold a bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in Creative Writing and a minor in Spanish, and I am currently completing my second year of graduate school in Speech-Language Pathology.
I have nearly 2 years experience as a substitute teacher for grades K-12 and have provided one-on-one tutoring in English and Math for elementary students. I’ve worked with learners from a variety of backgrounds and ability levels including English language learners (ESL), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and ODD.
As someone who has advanced proficiency in Spanish and has also studied other language including Swedish, French, and Polish, I understand both the challenges and the rewards of learning a new language. That perspective allows me to relate to English language learners and support them with patience and encouragement.
I look forward to meeting you, learning about your goals, and helping you to achieve them. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a lesson. Thank you!
