Bio

My name is Anthony. I graduated summa cum laude from Monmouth University in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in biology with a specialization in high school education. In my pursuit of becoming a teacher, I've strived to become the ideal educator that I always wanted growing up: someone who's gentle, light-hearted, and fun to have but is also able to be stern, fair, and reasonable.

It is my belief that, as a teacher, it is my responsibility to make sure that what is being taught is designed to fit the specific needs or desires of the student. After all, the goal is to get people engaged with your class, not bored out of their minds. This means mixing up the boring discussions to include demonstrations, opportunities to get out of your seat, funny allegories, experimentation, and so much more! I pride myself in ensuring that I am always available to help any student who walks through my doors, be it for extra help with an assignment or even if they need a quiet place to eat their lunch because they're having a bad day.
In making sure that I can deliver the best instruction possible, each of my lessons are highly structured and planned to follow the specific content standards without feeling like a slog to try and get through it. There will always be opportunities for a bit of that "get up out of your seat" excitement that draws kids in so well and makes them enjoy what they're learning.
I've been teaching for about 4.5 years now and have taught anywhere from highly advanced learners to struggling kids with a wide breadth of modifications and learning disabilities. Regardless of skill level, I approach each student equally, as I believe that anyone can become a scientist if they put their minds to it and are given the right instruction!
I always try to make myself easy to reach and try to respond to questions and requests as soon as possible. Please feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions or would simply like to schedule a lesson!
Best of luck and have a nice day!

Approved Subjects

ADHD

ADHD

Over the 4.5 years I've been teaching, I've worked with well over 30 students who've been formally classified with any of the three main types of ADHD. Though I possess no special education certification, I've managed to form regular and consistent rapports with these students that have lasted their entire educational careers at the institutions I've taught in. In addition, I was formally diagnosed with ADHD myself from a very young age and recognize the various difficulties that it can bring to everyday life. I've used those personal experiences to great effect, as I believe I've been able to connect to such students on a level that many other either can't or haven't.
Biology

Biology

I've been a biology teacher for approximately 4.5 years. My college degree was a bachelor's in Biology and Secondary Education and graduated summa cum laude. Along with the general sciences, teaching others in the fields have always been my greatest passions, as I want to give everyone the equal chance to shine and succeed.
Elementary Science

Elementary Science

I have been teaching science at the high school level for nearly 5 years. While high school is a different atmosphere to elementary or middle school, I have led multiple elementary and middle school classes as part of my training to become a teacher a few years ago. I have an intense passion for teaching, especially of the sciences and I believe that everyone has the potential to succeed.
Environmental Science

Environmental Science

For three years now, I've been teaching environmental science at the college prep level for the current institution at which I teach. Across that period of time, I've guided well over 250 freshman students through the following topics, just to name a few: resource sustainability (and the tragedy of the commons), ecology (at all levels of organization), trends in human population growth, environmental hazards, each of Earth's key resources (forests, water, soil, minerals, and the atmosphere), and global climate change. I've invoked a wide arrange of different strategies to aid the students along in this endeavor, from bodily-kinesthetic to logical-mathematical, to reading comprehension, to artistic expression.
