I’m a K–12 special education teacher and math & science tutor who specializes in helping students feel calmer, more confident, and more capable, especially when the topic feels overwhelming.
Many of my students may feel they are “bad at math.” They’re anxious, or they have had past experiences that made math feel stressful. Some understand the material but freeze during homework or tests. Others can struggle with organization or confidence. My role is to help students feel supported while building skills that can stick.
As an experienced Manhattan special education teacher, I have extensive experience working with students across grade levels and learning styles, including students with ADHD, learning differences, and math anxiety. I know how to slow things down, explain concepts clearly, and meet students where they are — without pressure or judgment.
In our sessions, we work on academic skills and the skills that support learning, such as breaking problems into manageable steps and staying organized. I naturally support executive functioning skills like task initiation, working memory, and focus, all within the context of real classwork and goals.
I work especially well with students who:
Feel anxious, discouraged, or overwhelmed by math
Have ADHD or other learning differences
Understand concepts but struggle with homework, tests, or follow-through
Need a calm, supportive approach to build confidence and independence

Great Global History Tutor

Sean is an excellent tutor and we highly recommend him. He worked with our daughter last summer, and his skill and tutoring helped her to pass the Global History Regents. This year he worked with our daughter the entire school year and tutored her in U.S. History. She is a special needs student and Sean was always respectful of her challenges and devised creative ways to keep her engaged and focused. His constant efforts helped her to excel at the class all year and achieve a high score for the year. During the final weeks leading up to the regents Sean was extremely flexible with his schedule and was always willing to accommodate our request for additional sessions to really support her right up until the day of the test.
