Hi, I'm Chloe! I graduated summa cum laude from Marist University with a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in Psychology. Here, I was a General Biology review session leader, where I was selected by Biology Department professors to develop and lead a weekly two-hour review session for students. This included answering assignment questions, preparing for exams, and addressing overall inquiries on the material. I was a direct liaison between students and the Biology Department faculty, so I have a multitude of experience with what college professors expect from their students.
I was also a 1-on-1 tutor for 5 years in college and high school combined, where I tutored courses such as general biology I+II, general chemistry I+II, organic chemistry I+II, molecular biology, and biochemistry. In addition, I was a teacher's assistant for 3 years in college, so I am very familiar with different classroom settings and teaching styles.
I prioritize critical thinking skills to ensure students understand the material they're learning, not solely memorizing the information, as well as connecting new information with previously taught concepts as a form of active recall. I also integrate many real-world scenarios so that the information applies to the student, making them more engaged with the material. All of these strategies assist with information retention! I also emphasize that this is a positive learning environment so that the student feels comfortable asking questions and speaking their mind -- which is ultimately how they will progress and learn! Additionally, I have the most experience tutoring upper-level high school to college-level students. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have or to schedule a lesson!
