Hi, I am Jojo, Ms, PhD, recently finished my postdoctoral fellow studying immunity in the gut during lactation [PMID: 42129565]. As a scientist, I became an expert in immunology, physiology, metabolism, endocrinology, and neurobiology. My research work as a postdoctoral fellow (CRI Irvington funded) at Princeton University focused on maternal health while my predoctoral fellowship focused on immune regulation of metabolism [PMID: 38013040].

My time in the university has allowed me to aid graduate and undergraduate students understand general knowledge in immunology, biomedical sciences, biochemistry, molecular biology, and physiology through one-on-one tutorials or small group discussions. While as a postdoc, I was able to mentor undergraduate and graduate students in the laboratory by teaching them lab techniques, theoretical background/concepts, and the scientific method! I believe that my advantage includes my expertise in the lab and my experience in communicating science in an academic settings, which will help in finding ways to digest complex ideas!
I always bear in mind three points as a tutor: 1) reinforce basic concepts, which is helpful to understand the more complex ideas in science nowadays, 2) try to translate basic science concepts to real life situation, which is to try to understand and appreciate the real life application of basic science concepts, and 3) make sure that a tutee, whether solo or in a group, is able to follow and understand the lesson (we will do our best to adjust to maximize learning)! Looking forward to working with you!
