As a rising sophomore at Purdue University studying engineering, I have spent my first year deeply immersed in rigorous math and science coursework. Maintaining a strong academic standing, reflected in my grade point average of 3.45, has given me the solid foundation needed to help high school students master challenging concepts. Whether I am modeling mechanical systems or developing aerodynamic components in design software, I have learned how to break down intimidating problems into manageable, intuitive steps. I understand the leap from high school to college academics, and I am eager to guide students through that same transition in their own math and science classes. Beyond my technical coursework, I am equally passionate about the humanities, which allows me to offer robust support in history and English. Recently, I completed a comprehensive research paper analyzing the intersection of classical literature and modern historical storytelling. This project required extensive critical reading, drafting, and meticulous proofreading, which are skills I am excited to pass on to students refining their own essays. While I do not have formal tutoring experience, I have consistently supported my peers through collaborative learning. Whether working closely with classmates on intricate group projects or leading informal study sessions, I enjoy helping others reach that vital moment of understanding. Furthermore, my background working as a camp councilor for children and as a youth hockey referee has taught me essential patience, adaptability, and how to communicate effectively. My goal as a peer tutor is to be an approachable mentor who understands exactly what it is like to grapple with tough material. By drawing on my own recent academic experiences, I want to help students build the confidence they need to successfully tackle everything from algebraic equations to complex historical essays.
