I am a neuroscience graduate from the University of Pittsburgh with several years of experience tutoring science courses. I recently completed the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) as part of my preparation for medical school, which strengthened my ability to approach complex scientific problems across biology, chemistry, psychology, and physics.
For 3.5 years I worked as an academic tutor at the University of Pittsburgh Study Lab tutoring center, providing one-on-one and drop-in tutoring for college students. I have helped students succeed in subjects including General Biology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, Statistics, and neuroscience courses such as Intro to Neuroscience, Functional Neuroanatomy, and Neurophysiology. I also served as a Biology Teaching Assistant, helping students develop effective study strategies and prepare for exams. In addition, I spent about 1.5 years tutoring elementary and middle school students, which strengthened my ability to explain complex concepts in clear and simple ways.
My tutoring philosophy centers on confidence and strong foundations. When students understand the fundamentals and believe in their ability to solve problems, difficult subjects become much more manageable. I focus on encouragement, step-by-step reasoning, and helping students build lasting problem-solving skills rather than memorizing information.
