I am a Spanish native speaker, and an experienced professional who graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Masters in World Languages from New Jersey City University. I am Spanish certified in New Jersey and New York. I am also the mom of two adorable children who are both fluent in English as well as Spanish. I truly believe that If we offer our children the opportunity to learn a second language, we are encouraging them to be more successful in their future endeavors. During my seven years teaching I have been able to utilize a wide range of skills and abilities within my classroom while also enhancing my understanding of second language acquisition in childhood and its relation to first-language development. Subsequently, I acquired knowledge of K-12 foreign language curriculum, the relationship among the educational content areas, and the ability to teach, as well as integrate and reinforce the school curriculum by using Spanish.
Besides that, I could provide learners with a rich target language environment that includes extended listening opportunities such as narration, description and explanations; and use authentic songs, rhymes, games, stories to reinforce meaning and practice language as well as meaningful concrete experiences, making extensive use of visuals, props, authentic materials, and hand-on activities.
