Hello all!
This is my 25th year as an elementary school general education classroom teacher. Throughout my years of teaching, I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade (this is where I am currently), but have tutored from 1st grade through 6th grade. I love being in my classroom each day, but I have also tutored for decades because nothing beats the one on one time with students and the rewarding feeling that I get when I help them succeed with something that had once been a challenge....
Hello all!
This is my 25th year as an elementary school general education classroom teacher. Throughout my years of teaching, I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade (this is where I am currently), but have tutored from 1st grade through 6th grade. I love being in my classroom each day, but I have also tutored for decades because nothing beats the one on one time with students and the rewarding feeling that I get when I help them succeed with something that had once been a challenge.
When I went to college, I studied English and thought that I would land in a human relations position with a large corporation for most of my career and turn to teaching later in life. However, the closer I got to graduating, the more I realized that I just wanted to be in the classroom from the beginning, so that's what I did!
After I completed my K-8 certification and got a few years of experience under my belt, I decided to go back to school for my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. Although I have not left the classroom yet, I possess leadership qualities that make me an effective teacher and tutor.
I am extremely organized, have a wealth of experience to pull from and can create tailored lessons based on student need. One of my strengths is creating a warm and inviting atmosphere or relationship with students while maintaining firm expectations.
I greatly look forward to potentially working with you and your family!
All the best,
Kate Corcoran
