I have a degree in business and accounting and more than 20 years of professional experience working with accounting systems and financial operations. Throughout my career I have regularly trained and mentored accountants and finance professionals, helping them understand both the mechanics of accounting and how those mechanics fit into the larger financial system.
While my teaching has mostly been in professional settings rather than a classroom, I have spent many years explaining accounting concepts one-on-one and in small groups. I enjoy helping people move from confusion to clarity, especially with foundational topics like debits and credits, journal entries, and financial statements.
My approach to tutoring is to simplify the concepts and connect them to how accounting actually works in the real world. Many students struggle because accounting is often taught as a set of rules to memorize. I focus on helping students understand the underlying logic so the rules start to make sense and become easier to apply.
I work best with high school, college, and adult students who want clear explanations and a patient step-by-step approach. My goal is to help students build confidence so they can approach their coursework with less stress and a stronger understanding of the material.
