I am returning to one to one tutoring after stepping away for a time to dedicate energy to my young family and my school community. I have always believed that one to one instruction is by far the most effective method for teaching AP strategy and content.

With nearly two decades of experience in the classroom at one of NJ's top rated public schools and a deep-seated passion for American political and historical narratives, I have dedicated my career to mastering the nuances of the AP curriculum. I hold a BA in History from the College of Charleston and an MEd in Secondary Education from Holy Family University, a foundation that combines rigorous content knowledge with advanced pedagogical strategy. For the past 18 years, I have taught AP U.S. Government and AP U.S. History, navigating the changing standards of the College Board and guiding thousands of high school juniors and seniors through their most challenging academic years. My classroom is enhanced greatly by my role as an official AP Scorer for more than a decade. Having spent over ten years grading national exams, I have a behind-the-scenes understanding of exactly how points are awarded or lost. This perspective allows me to move beyond simple content delivery, teaching students the precise rubric-based strategies required to excel.

I have a specialized approach, focusing on the mechanics of the Document-Based Question (DBQ) and the nuances of stimulus-based Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). I try to provide students with the structural formulas and analytical tools they need to write with focus and efficiency. My students regularly achieve a 100% pass rate, with average scores that typically fall a full point above both state and global averages. Whether working in a traditional classroom setting or providing one-on-one mentorship, my goal remains the same: minimize student anxiety and grow academic confidence so that every student I work with reaches their highest potential on exam day.
