Hello, I'm Harshal! I'm an undergraduate senior at the University of Pittsburgh majoring in Psychology and dual minoring in Chemistry and Creative Writing on the pre-med track. I love teaching chemistry and organic chemistry! I realized that chemistry was one of my passions and is often, especially organic, not taught in a fun, interesting, digestible way. Having a fantastic professor for my Honors Organic Chemistry Class made it even more enjoyable and was conducive for my learning. I try and bring this kind of approach to my students and will bring in resources and other materials for clarification and additional help. I also believe practice allows for the best understanding, so we will be doing a mainly practice-focused approach.
I also will be tutoring in Biology, Algebra 1, Calculus, SAT Math, and the MCAT (I scored 97th percentile).
I have three years of tutoring experience at the University of Pittsburgh where I tutor a variety of subjects and have come to find that I enjoy Chemistry the most. I have worked in both one-on-one situations, and large group settings form 5-8 people at a time. I recognize that not everyone learns the same way and will need certain things explained again or in different fashions and I am flexible to adjust how I would like to teach in a way that suits them best.
I aim to benefit the student as much as possible, not only to help them learn, but also to gain an appreciation and love for the material as well (though I know sometimes it's just for the grade :) ). I am easy to reach and will always provide a fast response. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!
