I am a knowledgeable educator, who has many years of teaching experience in Mathematics and Physics. I have taught university-level Physics for seven years that includes three years as a doctoral student at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology at Zurich, one year as a postdoctoral research fellow at the same institution, and four years as a Visiting Assistant Professor in New Jersey, (Rowan University and the College of New Jersey). In addition, I have experience in AP Physics, SAT Physics, and some K-12 NGSS exams, as well as providing content support for many other exams.

My main interest in tutoring is to prepare students for a career in the rapidly developing STEM world, which strongly depends on having a robust foundation in mathematics and the fundamentals of science. Although many schools have adjusted themselves to meet this demand, the content remains challenging for many students. My goal is to fill in the learning gaps and to help students expand their achievement capabilities.

I am willing to work with students at any level, and I have a deep appreciation for science. Accordingly, my enthusiasm will encourage students to be interested in the material and to confront their academic insecurities. I am comfortable teaching, pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, pre-Calculus, Physical Science, and Physics at all levels.

In addition to academics, I am a well-trained short distance sprinter, and I can train athletes for the 100m, 200m, and 400m as well as the associated relay events. I have also coached youth soccer for several years, and I am available for private training sessions.

My education consists of a Bachelor of Science from the University of California at San Diego, a Master of Science from the University of Stuttgart, Germany, and a Doctorate of Science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology at Zurich, Switzerland.

I am also Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y. certified, and I hold an f-license for coaching youth soccer.

I am a experienced short and mid-distance runner. I have competed in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100m, 4x200m, and 4x400m at a high level, and I have attempted to make the Olympic team as a 400m runner. I would like to pass on my knowledge to future track stars.

Best physics tutor

Taryl is very knowledgeable and polite. He cover lots of topics in a short period of time. He explains physics concepts clearly and offer good strategies. My daughter was very pleased and felt like the way he was teaching her was a better way for her to understand. Thanks, Taryl.

Great lessons. My son liked the methods used by Taryl. He is teaching AP physics. Taryl starts from basic concepts and then elaborates more in terms of usage of these concepts.
