I am a junior at Princeton University studying Neuroscience with a certificate in Creative Writing, and English and writing have been central to my academic and creative identity for years. I graduated in the top 1% of 1,245 students and scored a 1580 on the SAT, with particular strength in the Reading and Writing sections. I am thoroughly familiar with the skills and question types the SAT tests in the verbal domain and am well-positioned to help middle and high school students build both the foundational literacy and the test-specific strategies they need to succeed.
My writing credentials are extensive and nationally recognized. I am the author of a national award-winning children's book and have been published in over a dozen literary outlets. I was selected as a New York Life Award winner — one of only three students chosen nationally from 260,000 submitted works — and I am a Double Gold Medalist at the National Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. For five years I worked as a writer and reviewer for the Mensa Foundation, evaluating manuscripts from publishers including Random House and Candlewick, which sharpened my analytical understanding of how language, structure, and argumentation function at a high level.
My teaching experience is direct and hands-on. As a paid tutor for multiple SAT tutoring academies for two years, I developed rigorous content requiring deep knowledge of how students read and process complex texts. I have mentored peers in one-on-one and group settings and led programming for over 600 students as a Princeton community fellow. I bring a personalized, encouraging approach — focusing on genuine comprehension and voice rather than test tricks alone.
