I recently graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University with a BA in Architecture and a minor in English. In the past, I have tutored academic subjects in high school as well as taught dance lessons to a variety of skill levels. As a Princeton University graduate, one of the things I really learned how to do is study, and academics have always been extremely important to me. Not only did I graduate magna cum laude from Princeton, but I also have received several awards in high school and even middle school for my academic excellence.
Though I specialized in Architecture and English in college, I am especially prepared to help students with high school test prep (SAT, ACT, AP Exams, etc). I believe that it is extremely important for a teacher to be open and flexible when teaching students. Everybody learns differently, and it is up to the teacher to recognize that and adjust accordingly. Students learn best when they feel supported by their teachers, so I also believe that it is important to be open and friendly to create the best learning environment. I also believe strongly in the Socratic method, as encouraging students to really engage with the work helps with both understanding and memory.
I want to be as much of a benefit as possible to the students and welcome any resources or suggestions from parents or students. I am always happy to answer questions and am excited to work with you or your student!
