ABOUT ME

Hi! I’m a PhD student in math at Princeton University*. I spend my days working with beautiful mathematical ideas, and I love sharing that excitement with students.

Before Princeton, I completed graduate studies in math at Columbia University, and prior to that, I studied theoretical physics and mathematics as a master’s student at the University of Cambridge on a Churchill Scholarship.

Motivated by a strong enthusiasm for learning, when I was an undergraduate at Indiana University I was a quadruple major — Mathematics, Physics, Astronomy/Astrophysics, and Piano Performance — which I successfully completed in just 4 years with a near-perfect GPA while moving quickly into graduate-level courses.

(*Princeton is tied with MIT for the #1-ranked grad school for math in the country according to U.S. News.)

TUTORING EXPERIENCE

I’ve been helping students learn since I was in high school, when I first began tutoring math.

Now, as a grad student, I also teach math here at Princeton and serve as a teaching assistant. I’ve also received formal training in the effective methods for math instruction, which I completed in preparation for my teaching duties.

Approved Subjects

ACT Math

ACT Math

I scored in the 99th percentile on the SAT.
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

When I took Algebra 1 years ago, my teacher always graded my quizzes & tests 1st in order to check that his answer key was right before moving to the other students, since he knew I would get the questions right. This was as a 7th grader even though it was a 9th grade-level class. I've had lots of experience tutoring high school students in Algebra 1
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I received the award for Honors Algebra 2 at my high school for my high performance. Since then, I have tutored the subject and love helping students build confidence in it.
AMC (Competition math)

AMC (Competition math)

I've performed well in math competitions when I was in middle school, and have since continued through as a team with my fellow math majors, receiving 1st prize. I can help with competition preparation, specializing for example in AMC math.
Calculus

Calculus

I know the ins-and-outs of calculus. Whether it's AP Calculus AB & BC, Calculus 1 & 2, or Multivariable Calculus, I'm your guy. I've lectured calculus to students and have expertise tutoring in it. When I took AP Calculus in high-school (AB & BC), I very nearly received a perfect 100% in every homework assignment, quiz, and test. I currently give Multivariable Calculus lectures to undergraduate students at Princeton University.
Differential Equations

Differential Equations

I have expertise in both ordinary differential equations and partial differential equations. Moreover, my PhD dissertation in math at Princeton has a heavy focus on differential equations. Differential equations has always come easy to me--when I was an undergraduate, I learned all of undergraduate differential equations course content on my own through self-study, which allowed me to test out of all 4 semesters of differential equations (ODEs 1 & 2, and PDEs 1 & 2) and dive straight into graduate-level differential equations, in which I was the only undergrad student but performed better than most of the graduate students. I also have co-authored several mathematical research papers which have a heavy focus on differential equations and have also served as a substitute lecturer for graduate-level PDE courses at Princeton.
Geometry

Geometry

I'm gettin my PhD in math at Princeton and have expertise in Geometry (among lots of other subjects).
Linear Algebra

Linear Algebra

I received an A+ when I took Linear Algebra in undergrad and since then have helped students succeed in the subject. I have a deep knowledge of the subject. No matter which type of linear algebra you need help with, including the higher-level version focused on theory offered by some universities, I'm happy to help.
Physics

Physics

I have a degree in physics
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I can help you with anything you want help with in prealgebra. I scored very well in the subject when I learned it years ago and since have accumulated tons of experience with helping students build their math skills on prealgebra.
Precalculus

Precalculus

When I took Precalculus years ago through my high school, I earned a grade of 100% on every single homework, quiz, and test in the whole course. Suffices to say I know Precalculus backwards and forwards. Since then, I've tutored the subject to other students as well and enjoy helping students to learn it!
Quantum Physics

Quantum Physics

I have a degree in physics and have received an A in quantum mechanics when I took it as an undergraduate. I have a strong background in the advanced mathematics used in quantum mechanics. I also have done some study of advanced physics topics which upon quantum mechanics, including quantum field theory. I also have special background in making quantum mechanics, which many find counterintuitive, clear and understandable.
Real Analysis

Real Analysis

Real Analysis is one of the topics I specialize my PhD in math. My PhD program at Princeton is one of the very top for Analysis specifically, and my rigorous training has given me a robust command of the subject. My success goes back to my undergrad days with high performance in Honors Real Analysis 1 & 2 I can help you with any of the topics in your Real Analysis coursework. I have tutored the subject before, whether for undergrad or for fellow graduate student preparing in the subject for graduate-level examination.
SAT Math

SAT Math

When I took the SAT in high-school, I scored in the 99th percentile overall among students nationwide. Math was always my top subject and I'm confident I can help you or your child build confidence and improve their score!
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

I've tutored Trigonometry to lots of students. I can't wait to help you build confidence in the subject!
