Hello there, my name is Farjana and I can support all K-12 learning needs. It is my standard to create individualized lesson plans for my students and to adapt my teaching methods to appeal to my students' learning styles. My love for teaching stems from a love of learning. I believe teaching to be both a calling and a passion. It certainly is for me. The greatest success I can have as a tutor is to create an eager, life-long learner.

I specialize in all of the core subjects, including ELA (reading and writing), fluency and comprehension, and literature analysis. I also specialize in tutoring all levels of writing. This includes elementary writing, term papers, high school essays, and IB essays. In addition, I provide sessions for math/science subjects (trigonometry, biochemistry, calculus), high school and college level study skills and assisting in efficient time management. 

I believe it is critical to first get to know a student, understand his or her learning style, and then assess the specific areas or skills that require development. From there, I create individualized instruction to address these needs. I give frequent feedback to students and parents and appreciate it in return. Learning should be a pleasant experience, and I strive to provide that for my students.

I am in the process of the completion of my Bachelor's degree in Biology. In addition, I collaborated with a scientist at the USDA on a research study that included comparing various bacteria populations via the use of a polymerase chain reaction.

It is understandable that studying a new topic might be tough, especially in today's fast paced learning environment. I'm here to give individualized coaching to help you better understand and handle these challenging topics more effectively.
