Caring, Empathetic, Knowledgable, Resourceful Education Coach and Praxis Tutor!

Joanna was a terrific Praxis tutor and education interview coach! She helped me prepare for interviews, and the Praxis 5047 (Middle School English Language Arts) test. All her tutoring sessions were personalized, informative, and enlightening. I have worked with MANY Praxis tutors in the past for the Middle School English Language Arts 5047 test; Joanna far surpasses their tutoring style and helpfulness. In our first session together, Joanna and I looked at my past Praxis testing data and drafted a plan on areas we felt I could use improvement - an individualized and personalized approach to tutoring. Joanna started every tutoring session as my cheerleader and coach, which put me in a positive mental mindset. Her words of wisdom at the start of each session gave me so much encouragement and confidence, which made me feel at ease, calm, and successful. Joanna and I especially worked on strategies on how to approach the constructed response questions on the 5047 test. Her approach to helping me tackle the constructed response questions was to come up with a formula on how to construct an answer the test examiners would be looking for - this was very enlightening. I appreciated Joanna's tutoring style; when working together on my constructed response, she asked me reflective questions which me think, examine, and look at my own work with a critical lens versus dictating at me. She also asked me questions about reading and writing strategies I teach my students, and showed me how I can use what I teach to my advantage to help me on the test. Joanna also helped me with multiple choice test taking strategies, which she modeled before we practiced together. Joanna's patience, care, empathy, and knowledge made her the best Praxis tutor I have ever worked with! I went into the test with confidence and preparedness all thanks to Joanna! I HIGHLY recommend her for any education industry needs you may have.

Joanna is an extremely knowledgeable, kind, and fun tutor!

Joanna has been helping me glean enough knowledge to pass the Foundations of Reading exam that I need to get recertified as a teacher in the state of CT. She has a wealth of knowledge in this area, having been a teacher herself and also an administrator. She is patient, and never makes you feel stupid. In fact, she encourages you in the things you are doing right. I highly recommend her as a tutor, especially because she makes you feel like her friend and brings levity to each session. My experience with Joanna has been fantastic.
