New York Institute of Technology (Electrical Engineeri)
I have over 30 years experience in engineering, mostly in the Aerospace field. Though I majored in electrical engineering in college, the first company I worked for guided me into Systems Engineering. This afforded me many opportunities to learn from various engineering disciplines, i.e. mechanical, thermal, stress. This helped in design, devleoping and integrating various system designs for Aerospace products.
The products I've worked on included guidance systems for the military and my most significant accomplishment was working on the guidance and navigation system for the International Space Station. The company I worked for assembled the Control Moment Gyroscopes for Space Station attitude and control. I worked this program for 20 years and was considered a Subject Matter Expert by our customer.
I learned many things working with gifted people over the years. The most important was you are never to old to learn. The other important thing was that all the sophisticated component designs originated by the basic theormes we all learn in math and science. My analogy is that of a ball player, once they become proficient with the basics of the game, they start their path on the way of becoming an excellent ballplayer. I have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. I have integrated and tested various control systems on navigation and guidance platforms in the Aerospace field. As a Systems Engineering I collaborated with various engineering disciplines in the design and development of these navigation and guidance systems. As a systems engineering lead, I had to instruct new employees in performing processes and procedures relevant to the applicable systems.
