Bible Studies

I have read the entire Bible several times and memorized several passages. I led Bible studies in a youth detention center with students that were mostly Bible illiterate for three years. I also started and led a Bible study in a nursing home which consisted of groups of five to fifteen members. I am experienced in designing discussion questions and helping people to comprehend difficult concepts by cross-referencing.

Common Core

I have taught the Common Core Standards in Math and English Language Arts to elementary and middle school students. I have over 10 years of experience as a classroom teacher. I am familiar with the methods and strategies that are expected to be applied in the Common Core examinations.

Elementary Math

Geometry

I am currently NJ State Certified math teacher working in the public schools. I have experience Geometry in the classroom and as a tutor. I can help you with theorems, postulates, proofs, and using algebraic equations to solve angle values. My experience tutoring high schoolers in Algebra II helps me to provide Geometry students with the necessary foundations for success in the courses following Geometry.

Homeschool

I am a teacher with a variety of classroom and tutoring experiences: I have taught elementary, middle school, and adult learners in public and private school settings. I have also taught online one on one classes to students in foreign countries. My variety of professional experiences enables me to approach homeschooling students with different teaching strategies to help them to be successful in math, reading, writing, and social studies. I specialize in math and am currently teaching 8th grade Common Core Math (Pre-Algebra). I also tutor high school students in Algebra I and II.

Phonics

I have experience as a certified teacher, teaching Kindergarten for three years and First grade for two years. I successfully taught many students to read with both phonics-based programs such as Abeka and Houghton-Mifflin curriculum, as well as with whole language-based curriculum.

Prealgebra

I have been teaching for seven years in the classroom. I have experience with teaching students of different abilities in Pre-Algebra. I am a certified Middle School Mathematics teacher in the state of NJ.

Precalculus

I am a certified public school teacher with over 8 years of experience in teaching math. I provide additional practice resources in each tutoring session to help you master the skills that are necessary for you to be successful in Pre-Calculus and Calculus I.

Reading

I have experience teaching both whole language and phonics based curriculum. I value vocabulary development and teaching students how to respond to text through writing in order to ensure increase of comprehension skills and fluency scores.

SAT Math

I am currently a certified high school math teacher with over seven years experience in one-on-one tutoring of students in SAT Math. As a classroom teacher, I am experienced in identifying and remediating areas of weakness for students in the content areas that are tested on the SAT. It makes me feel good to see students overcome their previous anxieties and take the exam with confidence to get the score to get into their dream school.

Trigonometry

I have taught Math to students of a variety of ages for over ten years. I have experience tutoring Algebra 2 in which much of basics of trigonometry are being laid. I successfully taken several levels of college level Calculus courses that require extensive use of trigonometric identities.
