Hi! My name is Kim. I am a current medical student and most recently worked at a high school math teacher (all math levels and learning levels). I have been private and group tutoring since I was in high school, where I worked as a tutor and acted as my school's NHS Tutoring Liaison. At my university, I have volunteered as a tutor for the Honors Program and I currently work as a tutor for Student Athletes, which has helped me gain perspective on balancing school, athletics, and other commitments. I also work as a Learning Assistant where I work closely with professors and students to aid in the learning and retention of material. From my experience and a Pedagogy course, I have started to view tutoring as not only a way to refresh academic skills, but also a way to develop teaching, communication, and interpersonal skills. I love tutoring and working with students. :)
In high school, my passion for math was discovered when I decided to self-study Algebra 2 in order to test out of the course and skip the class, allowing me to take even higher level math at a younger age. I have taken up to Calculus IV (Differential Equations) in college so far. My love for math has taken me very far and I hope that through tutoring and through teaching, I can help students also recognize how powerful a math foundation can be.
