Hello, and thank you for taking the time to learn more about my tutoring services. I am a middle school English Language Arts educator currently teaching grades 6–8 in a classroom setting, working with over 90 students each academic year. In addition to whole-group instruction, I provide small-group intervention and approximately six hours per week of one-on-one tutoring focused on improving reading comprehension, analytical writing, grammar, and vocabulary development. I specialize in helping students annotate texts effectively, identify central ideas and themes, organize their thoughts clearly, and support their responses with strong textual evidence. I also work closely with multilingual learners, using academic word banks, sentence frames, and structured scaffolds to build both language proficiency and confidence.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology, graduating with a strong academic record, and I am currently completing the certification process for Middle School English Language Arts. My academic training strengthened my analytical reasoning and structured writing skills, which I intentionally model during tutoring sessions. I also support students in preparing for classroom and standardized assessments by teaching test-taking strategies, time management, and constructed response writing techniques.
My tutoring approach is structured, supportive, and focused on measurable growth. Through targeted writing instruction and annotation strategies in both classroom and individualized settings, my students have demonstrated significant movement out of the lowest proficiency bands on interim assessments, with a notable increase in students reaching grade-level performance. I focus on helping students understand the process behind strong academic work so they build independence, confidence, and lasting skills.
