Hi, I'm Sebastian! I'm a graduate of Stevens Institute of Technology with a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering and a nearly finished M.E. in Mechanical Engineering. My approach to tutoring is to usually dive right in and begin solving problems. I'm a big proponent of using the Socratic Method when teaching and guiding my students to finding the solution to a problem step-by-step. Along the way, I'll identify gaps in your understanding and patch them up with lessons showing the relevant theory. I love the material that I teach and will do my best to pass on that passion to you! I believe that learning is a lifelong pursuit and I will do my best to not only help you pass your classes and exams, but to make you a better learner overall.
I scored 800 on the SAT Math section and 800 on the SAT Math Level 2. I received 5's on the AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, and AP Physics exams. My coursework included classes such as Multivariable Calculus, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, Heat Transfer, Convection, Intro to Aerospace, Compressible Flow, Numerical Methods, and Computational Fluid Dynamics & Heat Transfer.
I began tutoring during my freshman year of high school. As an underclassman, I tutored Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry. As an upperclassman, I primarily tutored SAT Math, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, and AP Physics. I continued tutoring during my 6 years at Stevens, primarily teaching Calculus I, Calculus II, and Physics. I mostly tutored in a one-on-one setting with the occasional group lesson here and there, mostly in the form of exam preparation.
