In this class, the learner and I have the same books in front of us. I teach a half hour of reading comprehension and a half hour of lang arts to students ranging from Kg-8th grade. I have the IOA's 120 hour TESOL certificate, as well as the 120 hour TEFL Full Circle Certificate. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Management and Education from Thomas Edison State College.
This class provides great practice to help your child write in complete sentences, use correct capitalization, punctuation, grammar, and enrich their vocabulary! Students will increase their critical thinking skills and become better readers. They will learn to identify the main idea, focus on key ideas and details, and integrate knowledge and ideas from the stories to answer questions. They will also gain an understanding of parts of speech and sentences, grammar and usage, and capitalization/punctuation. Other topics included in the workbooks are commas, apostrophes, quotation marks, subject-verb agreement, past tense verbs, and a lot more!
