I currently teach Special Education at the Middle School level, and have been teaching Middle School Special Education for over a decade, specializing in Language Arts, Literacy, Study Skills and the Humanities. I am Highly Qualified in the State of New Jersey for Grades K-9 in Special Education and English Language Arts Education. I received my Masters Degree from NYU in Literacy, graduating with a GPA of 4.0, and my Undergraduate Dual Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education at St. Thomas Aquinas College Honors Program with a minor in English. I have experience teaching students ranging from elementary aged to college in public and private school as well as private tutoring.
My whole goal is geared towards helping students achieve their highest potential in whatever areas of interest and/or needs they have. Education and learning are fluid, and therefore education needs to fit each student individually. I strive to teach students in the modalities in which they learn best, meet students where they are, and help them achieve success on their path to where they are going. Each tutoring session should be tailored to an individual learner and their particular learning styles (tactile, visual, auditory, etc.) in order to keep the student engaged and help them to access material to their utmost potential. I have spent years teaching many subjects and Special Education, and therefore I am highly adaptable in my pedagogy and my ability to connect with all types of learners. Together, all learning is possible, and all goals are achievable!
