Hello! My name is Jieun.
I was born in Korea and majored in Computer Engineering and Business until university. After graduating, I worked at Samsung before moving to the U.S.
Now, I've been living in the U.S. with my family for 13 years.
Since coming to the U.S., I've spent 4 years translating between Korean and English, and then, as a Korean, I taught Korean for 5 years at a Korean school to kids who couldn't speak Korean while living in America.
Some of the kids started from the basics, while others could understand but struggled with speaking. There were also kids who could almost speak Korean but found the honorifics, one of the tricky parts of the language, challenging.
We can read short articles and have conversations, or just chat like friends. We can also practice listening by watching short videos.
If you feel you need to study vocabulary, we can practice with words and short sentences.
Language doesn't grow well in a tense atmosphere.
If you get stuck, I'll wait for you. Of course, I can help correct you along the way. If something isn't clear, I'll explain it multiple times.
I'll teach you Korean in a comfortable, fun, and effective way!
