Welcome to my page :) I’m Dr. Moh, a scientist, educator, and lifelong learner who genuinely enjoys helping students understand difficult concepts, not just memorize them.

I hold a PhD in Materials Science & Engineering and have worked in industry and research roles at places like Becton Dickinson (BD) and Kenvue (formerly JNJ Consumer), while also serving as an adjunct professor teaching chemistry and physics. What I love most is bridging the gap between theory and real life, showing students why what they’re learning matters and how to approach problems with confidence.

My teaching style is patient, structured, and encouraging. I focus on building intuition first, then refining problem-solving skills step by step. No question is “too basic,” and mistakes are part of the process, not something to be embarrassed about.

If you’re looking for a supportive, clear, and motivating learning experience, I’d be happy to work with you.

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I help students build a strong foundation in Algebra 1 by focusing on understanding, not memorization. Topics I commonly teach include linear equations, inequalities, graphing, proportions, systems of equations, and word problems. My approach is structured, patient, and step-by-step, helping students see patterns and logic rather than feeling overwhelmed. I aim to boost confidence and problem-solving skills so students feel prepared for exams and future math courses.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I have extensive experience teaching and applying Algebra 2 concepts through advanced coursework, research, and real-world problem solving. I work with students on functions, quadratics, polynomials, exponentials, logarithms, systems, and introductory trigonometry concepts. I focus on building intuition first, then reinforcing skills through guided practice and clear explanations. My goal is to help students feel confident tackling challenging problems and preparing for higher-level math and science courses.
Data Analysis

Data Analysis

I have extensive experience using data analysis and statistical methods throughout my PhD research and professional career in industry. I regularly worked with tools like Minitab, Excel, and Sigmaplot to perform hypothesis testing, equivalence testing, variance analysis, t-tests, and ANOVA to support data-driven decisions at companies such as BD and L’Oréal. My approach focuses on helping students understand not just how to run analyses, but how to interpret results, p-values, and assumptions correctly. I aim to make data analysis intuitive, practical, and confidence-building rather than overwhelming.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

I help elementary students build strong math foundations in a supportive and encouraging learning environment. I work with students on arithmetic, word problems, fractions, decimals, measurement, and early problem-solving skills. My teaching style is patient and step-by-step, focusing on understanding concepts rather than memorizing procedures. I aim to build confidence, reduce math anxiety, and help students develop positive study habits that support long-term success.
Environmental Science

Environmental Science

My background in environmental science is rooted in real-world sustainability and materials research rather than purely theoretical coursework. I specialize in sustainability, life-cycle thinking, recycled and bio-based materials, renewable energy, and environmental impact assessment from both academic and industry perspectives. Through my PhD and professional roles, I’ve worked on sustainability strategies, material selection, and environmental trade-offs in regulated industries. I help students connect environmental science concepts to real applications, policy considerations, and modern sustainability challenges.
Interview Prep

Interview Prep

I have helped students and early-career professionals prepare for technical, academic, and industry interviews through structured mock interviews and personalized coaching. My experience includes interview preparation for roles in research, engineering, sustainability, and graduate programs, with a strong focus on clear communication and storytelling. I guide students in breaking down behavioral and situational questions (e.g., STAR), technical explanations, and confidence-building strategies. My goal is to help students feel prepared, authentic, and calm going into interviews.
Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word

I have extensive experience using Microsoft Word in both academic and professional settings, including preparing reports, presentations, and research papers. My teaching background enables me to break down Word's features into simple, easy-to-understand lessons, covering everything from document formatting, styles, and templates to more advanced tools like track changes, tables, and mail merge. Whether you're a beginner or looking to enhance your skills, I can tailor our sessions to meet your specific needs.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I have extensive experience helping students build strong pre-algebra foundations that prepare them for Algebra and beyond. I work with topics such as arithmetic, fractions, decimals, ratios, percentages, integers, basic equations, and problem-solving strategies. My approach is patient, structured, and concept-focused, helping students understand why math works rather than memorizing steps. I aim to build confidence, reduce math anxiety, and create a positive learning experience.
Probability

Probability

I have extensive experience teaching and applying probability concepts through academic coursework, research, and professional work. My background includes probability rules, combinations and permutations, binomial probability, and normal distributions, with applications in data analysis and decision-making. I focus on helping students understand underlying concepts and reasoning, not just formulas. My teaching style emphasizes clarity, structure, and building confidence step by step.
Public Speaking

Public Speaking

I have extensive experience in public speaking, having presented my research at multiple conferences during my PhD, where I communicated complex topics to both academic peers and professionals. In my professional career, I’ve also presented detailed analyses and proposals to leadership teams, showcasing my ability to tailor content for different audiences. Additionally, I have hosted virtual career workshops and talks, providing PhD advice and career guidance to students and early-career professionals. My public speaking background equips me to convey information clearly, confidently, and engagingly.
Statistics

Statistics

I hold a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering and have applied statistical analysis extensively throughout my academic and professional career. My work involved advanced statistical techniques such as regression analysis, hypothesis testing, ANOVA, and variance analysis, applied to real-world problems. This experience, combined with my teaching background, allows me to explain complex concepts in an easy-to-understand way while connecting them to practical applications in various fields.
Thermodynamics

Thermodynamics

I have a strong foundation in thermodynamics from my PhD training in Materials Science & Engineering and my experience teaching and applying these principles in research and industry. I’ve used thermodynamics concepts such as energy balances, entropy, phase behavior, and equilibrium to analyze real material systems. When tutoring, I focus on building intuition first, then guiding students step by step through problem-solving approaches. I aim to make thermodynamics feel logical and approachable rather than abstract or intimidating.
Thesis Writing

Thesis Writing

I have extensive experience writing, revising, and advising on undergraduate, master’s, and PhD-level theses through my own doctoral work and academic mentoring. I help students with structure, clarity, argument development, and organization, as well as refining technical language while preserving the original meaning. My approach focuses on guiding students through the writing process step by step rather than rewriting their work for them. I aim to help students communicate their ideas clearly, confidently, and academically.
