Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Grammar

In order to be an effective proofreader, one needs to have experience authoring numerous papers and reports. Here is a brief synopsis of my own experience:

I have co-authored scientific research papers in peer-reviewed journals and for large corporations.
I also authored numerous research papers for a variety of subjects in undergraduate and graduate school, including but not limited to biology, chemistry, creative writing, religion, and business subjects such as financial statement analysis, managerial skills, and international business.

I have also tutored business school students in writing their own research papers and preparing for their class presentations.

As a scientist with Johnson & Johnson I created and delivered presentations to management and colleagues. And as a Rutgers School of Business administrator, I created and delivered presentations to management, colleagues, current and prospective students and their parents. While working as an adjunct professor at Rowan College at Burlington County, I prepared slides for lectures in my algebra, statistics, and business mathematics courses.

In order to be an effective reading comprehension tutor, one should have experience authoring numerous professional papers and reports. Why? By writing such papers, the author becomes skilled in delivering key points to the reader to ensure comprehension. Here is a brief synopsis of my own experience:
