Hello, my name is Kayla! I’m a recent graduate from Rutgers University and will be starting an accelerated nursing program this May. During my gap year, I’ve been working as an SAT/ACT prep instructor at a private academy, specializing in math and science, while also supporting students across a variety of subjects.
I have over 8 years of tutoring experience working with middle school and high school students. I help with everything from day-to-day coursework and homework support to standardized test preparation, and I’ve worked closely with students to improve both their academic performance and confidence.
My teaching style is both results-driven and highly personalized. I take the time to understand each student’s strengths, challenges, and learning style, and tailor my sessions accordingly. Whether we’re breaking down difficult concepts, building strong study habits, or preparing for exams like the SAT/ACT, my goal is to make learning clear, manageable, and effective. At the same time, I prioritize creating a comfortable and supportive environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and grow at their own pace. I believe that building confidence is just as important as improving grades.
I primarily offer online sessions for flexibility and convenience, but I am also available for in-person tutoring in the North Jersey (Bergen County) area.
