I’m a 9-year College Board Reader and Grader for both AP United States History (APUSH) and AP United States Government and Politics (AP Gov). Since 2021, I have worked year-round with 33 students—and all 33 earned a 4 or 5 on their AP exams. That means I know exactly how the College Board designs and scores the MCQs, SAQs, DBQs, and LEQs —and I train my students to master those skills with confidence.

My professional background is second to none: I hold a PhD in Early American Intellectual History from the University of Nevada, a Master’s degree in 20th Century American Cultural History from Rutgers, and a Bachelor’s degree in American History from Columbia. I taught at the college level as an assistant professor for 5 years and have been teaching at the high school level since 2015. I have been published in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of History and Cultures and American Catholic Studies, and I have held fellowships and lectured at several universities including Stanford, Brown, and Berkeley.

My approach is both rigorous and supportive. Students learn not only the content knowledge required for APUSH and AP Gov, but also the writing strategies, analytical skills, and exam techniques the College Board rewards. I provide flexible hours and resources so students can practice independently, and I am a full-service tutor—available for quick questions by text, chat, or email at no additional cost.
