About Lori

With more than 20+ years as an English teacher and adjunct college professor, I have have helped 100's of students to successfully apply to and gain admittance to college. I also tutor students who need assistance in preparing for the reading and writing portions of standardized exams-- from the SAT and ACT on the high school level to the GRE and PRAXIS on the college level.

In 2014, I had the honor of being selected as "Teacher of the Year" in the high school where I teach. I have also worked as an adjunct professor at Long Island University and at Brookdale Community College. My educational background includes an MA in English/Teaching of Writing and a BA in Journalism/Sociology. In addition, I am a member of the New Jersey Writing Alliance-- an organization devoted to helping students to successfully make the transition from high school to college.

I provide essay writing, editing and proofreading assistance to students who want to set themselves apart from others-- whether they are preparing for college entrance exams, working on college applications, researching term papers or working on other written projects.

Services are provided in-person and online. Fees are flexible depending on services provided.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Very helpful and knowledgeable!

Lori was a tremendous help throughout our sessions. She was very patient, supportive, knowledgeable, and gave great resources. She was able to review more topics than I thought we would be able to within the month that I turtored with her! As someone who has bad test anxiety, she help me feel a lot more confident. I passed my reading section of the praxis the first time I took it thanks to Lori! S
