My name is Eliyahu.
My love of teaching started from a young age as during my early high school years, I was asked to tutor young students in Hebrew and that would later develop into Bar Mitzvah help, Humash, and Halacha.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Childhood Education grades 1-6 with a concentration in Judaic Studies. My studies in education included courses in how to teach students in a variety of all subjects included ELA, Math, Science and Art.
I currently teach over 200 students per day in Barkai Yeshiva in Brooklyn, NY. I have privately tutored over 100 students for their Bar Mitzvah readings and they have seen great success in their every day Tefillah under my guidance.
I'm currently a weekly Hazzan (Cantor) and Ba'al Qoreh (Torah Reader) in the Brooklyn and Deal Syrian Sephardic Community and have over 10 years of experience in Cantoring.
My lessons will be effective for all levels of students and my patience will help ease any stress of the student. I always strive for perfection in my lessons as I want all of my students to strive to be the best they can be.
Recordings of the Bar Mitzvah/ Tefillah parts will be sent for review and each lesson will begin with the part that was taught in the previous lesson. I stress repetition of each Cantorial note (Ta'am) so that it will be easy to understand that note for different applications. All of this will be explained during the lessons.
I can't wait to begin our learning together!
