Education:
I received my Master’s Degree in Prevention Science and Practice at Harvard's Graduate School of Education. I graduated from Carnegie Mellon in 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. In the spring of 2014, I received my Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) certificate from CUNY Hunter. A native New Yorker, I attended Queens Gateway to Health Sciences and graduated as valedictorian in 2010.
I have tutored elementary, middle, high school, and college-aged students since 2010. I have experience helping students prepare for standardized tests at the high school level, specifically supporting the Regents and AP level exams. In addition, I have supported students as they prepare for the SAT, ACT, GED, TOEFL, SHSAT, and SSAT/ISEE assessments.
During my undergraduate career, I also worked as a Teaching Assistant for various psychology courses within Carnegie Mellon’s Psychology Department. As a private tutor, I strive to increase each of my student’s self-efficacy and comfort level with academic content, and I approach teaching with the understanding that each student is unique in his or her own way. I tailor my approach when working with each student to provide instruction that fits their individual needs and in a way that makes tutoring effective and enjoyable.
