Basically within six months of each other, I not only became my father’s full time solo caregiver & provider, but made me a mother to my daughter as well. Out of necessity I earned my GED. Rather than allowing these unexpected changes in my life to end my education, four years later I began community college. Financially I had no choice but to complete my BSN in three years while raising my child as a single mother and being a full time caregiver. My progress was not effortless. During one especially difficult course, I had to attend tutoring every day for an entire semester with my daughter in tow. I knew without that extra help, I’d never achieve my goals, and pass. That experience taught me that success is not about having an easy path; it is about finding the right support, using effective strategies, and continuing forward. It is also why I am passionate about helping students reach their goals, regardless of age, background, confidence level, or previous obstacles.
I have been a BSN-RN for nine years now, working in adult and pediatric ER, ICU, and trauma. I have served more than five years as a charge nurse in multiple emergency departments, spent over seven years precepting student & new grad nurses, taught as an adjunct professor in an RN program, and have started tutoring nursing students online for multiple semesters. I also hold ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, and NIHSS certifications.
I love to tutor students in every step of their education. From Anatomy and Physiology to TEAS/HESI/NCLEX test prep. I want to teach you HOW to answer any question, not just parrot facts, so you’re always prepared. I can prepare you for any course! I am able to adapt each lesson to the individual student and learners of all ages, including second-career students. My goal is to make difficult material understandable, strengthen critical thinking, and help every person build the confidence and skills needed to succeed.
