I am a sophomore at Rutgers University–New Brunswick majoring in Computer Science and pursuing a minor in Chemistry. My college coursework has included calculus, discrete mathematics, data structures, and other mathematics and science courses. I am also fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese, having studied in both the United States and China. This background allows me to explain concepts in either English or Chinese depending on a student's needs.

My college coursework has included calculus, discrete mathematics, data structures, and other mathematics and science courses. I am also fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese, having studied in both the United States and China. This background allows me to explain concepts in either English or Chinese depending on a student's needs.
I enjoy breaking complicated ideas into smaller, more understandable steps. In mathematics, I focus on helping students understand why a method works rather than simply memorizing formulas. I can help students identify where they are getting stuck, work through example problems together, and then guide them as they solve similar problems independently. For Chinese learners, I can help with pronunciation, conversation, vocabulary, reading, and understanding how Mandarin is used naturally in everyday situations.
While I am new to professional tutoring, I am patient and willing to adapt my explanations to each student's learning style and current level. Students are welcome to send me their topics, class materials, or questions before a lesson so that I can prepare in advance and make our time as useful as possible. My goal is to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and leave the lesson with a clearer understanding of the material.
