As an effective results-driven tutor, my goal is for students to develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and problem structures. Math excellence stems from a great conceptual understanding of formulas, patterns, and various problem-solving skills. My experience has shown me that math can be taught procedurally or conceptually, and to be effective, there has to be a combination of both. Strong emphasis on conceptual understanding makes the difference between greatness and mastery. Moving away from procedural math makes students think instead of giving them a quick answer.
I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Rutgers University in 2024, and I plan on obtaining teacher certification. During my time at university, I took an entire series of Calculus courses, Abstract Algebra, and many other high-level math courses. I've consistently performed well in my courses and their respective exams, solidifying my grasp on mathematics. My performance led me to achieve Dean's List in 2023 and 2024. I excelled in my coursework, enough to serve as an academic tutor for a year. I taught both in-person and online sessions, helping students with math and preparing for tests. In these one-on-one sessions, I helped break down complex problems into concise, understandable steps. My tutoring approach is based on effective learning frameworks that identify gaps in knowledge, reinforce core concepts, and develop problem-solving techniques. This ensures that students gain the confidence and skills needed to tackle any math challenge, while also growing independently.
Whether a student needs help catching up, or needs help preparing for an exam, I seek to help any way I can. I tailor each session to specific needs while welcoming any resources and suggestions for feedback and growth. I am committed to making math more accessible and ensuring students see measurable progress in their classes and abilities.
