We’ve already covered a lot of ground and she has an intuitive sense of pacing and adjusting the level of difficulty according to my tempo of learning. I concur with the other reviewers who call her an excellent teacher .

The best tutor a person can be lucky enough to work with
Marisa is an excellent tutor. She is truly an expert in the Italian language and has a deep understanding of both Italian and English. She is superb at explaining issues in a way that is both easy to implement and to put to use. She is patient. She readily corrects grammar, pronunciation, and other errors, but is wise in not overwhelming the learner. She combines these traits with a great sense of humor and personal warmth. I can not recommend her highly enough. I have been very fortunate to have been able to work with her.

Marisa answered a number of questions I had and explained some of the basic rules of grammar (and exceptions) which Duolingo doesn't do Recommended a grammar book which I find very helpful
