I am qualified to tutor in ACT Science and Reading because of my background in biomedical engineering, my experience working as an engineer for Roche, and my own ACT scores from when I took the test in 2018 and received a 36 in science (100th percentile) and a 35 in reading (99th percentile). My education gave me a strong foundation in science, math, analytical reasoning, and communication. All of these skills are essential when helping students understand difficult material and improve their test performance.
My teaching approach is centered on identifying where students are struggling, explaining concepts in a clear and straightforward way, and building confidence in test-taking. I focus on more than just getting the right answer. I also want students to understand the reasoning behind each answer choice and feel confident in why they selected it. For ACT students, that means using targeted, repetitive practice and strategies to improve both accuracy and time management.
I have worked with high school students in one-on-one settings, both in person and online, and I am very comfortable providing individualized support through step-by-step instruction. My goal is to create an environment where students feel more confident, recognize their progress, and see that improvement reflected in their results.
