Hello! My name is Daniel Lopez and I'm a current clinical nutrition graduate student at Rutgers School of Health Professions. While balancing school I am also doing my rotations to gain hours of experience required for the licensure exam to become a registered dietitian. I received my bachelor of science in dietetics from Rutgers University NB in 2022. Being a dietetics major required heavily science-based courses such as biology (my favorite), chemistry, biochemistry, organic chemistry, physiology, and microbiology to name a few. As for the math portion, precalculus and statistics were the courses required. When I have a break from the graduate program I do substitute teaching for my local school district. While I'm not necessarily teaching lessons, if there are things students have questions about, I try my best to explain the material to them and steer them in the right direction.
While I may not have much experience in tutoring outside of study groups and one on one sessions in undergrad, I enjoy being able to explain and break down a concept for others to understand. I always believe that the best way to evaluate how well one knows their material is by being able to teach and explain it to others. By the end of the lesson with the student, I hope they will be able to walk away with more knowledge of their desired subject than they did when they first come to me.
