Hi! My name is Jessica, and I have been an elementary school teacher for the last six years. This September, I am going into my seventh year of teaching. I have taught third, fourth and fifth grade and also provide special education services to students. I am well versed in the common core standards and have tools and strategies that allow all learners to reach their optimal success. Prior to working as an elementary school teacher, I worked as a preschool teacher for a year.

I use manipulatives for hands on instruction and provide visual instructional plans to break apart challenging, multi-step problems. I allow students to work through trial and error and have them explain their errors to identify their mistakes.

I am able to work with students to identify how their writing sounds when read aloud. Through reading their writing aloud, students can hear where they made any errors. Together, we can work through identifying which mistakes can be corrected. I provide scaffolded graphic organizers for students to effectively organize their writing. I also provide them with sentence starters to get their writing process started.

Through our sessions, I will work on building confidence and independence. You will learn to be the master of your own learning. We will work together to make sure that you are practicing important skills to become successful.
