My areas of interest include stuttering, ESL, literacy (phonics and reading comprehension) articulation disorders and accent reduction. I have provided intervention and communication support via an online model for over 6 years before the pandemic moved many to virtual instruction. I find the delivery model to be one that is convenient for clients with more flexible scheduling. I have worked with pre-school aged though adults for 30+ years both individually and in groups. I help individuals with communication disorders access the curriculum and attain social and emotional goals. As a certified member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association, I am qualified to evaluate, screen, treat and consult with individuals with communication disorders. I hold multiple state licenses to work with the communication impaired special needs populations.

The background I bring to vocabulary intervention comes from over 30 years as a speech language pathologist, literary specialist and reading specialist. With a focus on morphemes, the smallest units of word meaning, I enable word analysis for meaning, decoding and spelling. Most students also benefit from learning strategies to improve reading comprehension. My sessions are focused and encouraging with a personalized approach to meet the needs of the individual client.

Lynda was an excellent tutor who provided me with valuable knowledge and support in understanding phonemic vs phonetic inventory, analyzing speech samples, diagnosing speech disorders, reviewing diacritics for transcription, and identifying phonological processes in speech samples.
