Data Analysis

I hold a PhD in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from UCLA, with minors in Economics and Statistics. From 1995 through 2016 I worked as a Financial Information Technology Consultant in the Tri-State area in the North East. Depending on my assignments, my tasks was to conduct data analysis involving inspecting, cleansing, transforming, and modeling data with the goal of discovering useful information, informing conclusions, and supporting decision-making. It involves techniques like descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analysis to understand past trends, explain why things happened, predict future outcomes, and recommend actions.

Differential Equations

I have a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and took several math courses which included Differential Equations. I also took several science courses which used Differential Equations. I have a Ph.D. in applied math and have used Differential Equations in some of them. I have thought as an instructor and tutor for Differential Equations.

Discrete Math

I have a PHD in Applied Math and Computer Science from UCLA. In my undergrad and graduate programs, I took courses in Discrete Math. Additionally, I have tutor courses in Discrete Math as well.

Econometrics

I have taken a few courses in Econometrics while I was in graduate school at UCLA. My Ph.D. minor is also Econometrics. I have taught Econometric courses throughout my tutoring/teaching career.

Finite Math

I have a PhD in Applied Math and Computer Science from UCLA. In my graduate program I have taken courses in: Set Theory, Matrices, Networks, Optimization, and Probability which are the foundations of Finite Math. Additionally, I have tutored many students in Finite Math.

Information Technology

I hold a PhD in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from UCLA, with minors in Economics and Statistics. From 1982 to 1986 I taught Information Technology in the California State University System. In this course I covered in broad terms the use of technology to communicate, transfer data and process information. From 1995 through 2016 I worked as an Information Technology Consultant in the Tri-State area in the North East. Depending on my assignments, my job was to advise on the use of technology to communicate, transfer data and process information. In most cases, in systems conversions, I had to learn how the legacy systems were handling information technology, and propose new Information Technology approaches.

Interview Prep

I hold a PhD in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from UCLA, with minors in Economics and Statistics. I started my consulting career in Financial Information Technology in 1996 and through 2016, for 20 years. As a resulted to keep a stable income I had to go to job interview around once a month. Usually, I had a new contact before the end of my existing contarct. To prepare my student for a job interview, I apply the STAR method. I start by identifying the required skills from the job description. Then, we brain storm the candidate’s past experience and education and training related to the required skills. I prepare my students for tough questions, and review potential scenarios with them.

Logic

I have taken several courses in Logic in my undergraduate and graduate programs at UCLA. The courses covered Boolean Logic, categorical syllogistic logic, propositional logic, and predicate logic.
