Need help with AP Lang, college essays, or standardized test prep? I’m a certified English teacher with over a decade of experience teaching students in grades 6 through 12 and at the college level. I hold a B.A. in English and an Ed.M. in Education from Rutgers University, along with advanced degrees in Philosophy and Theology from St. Mary’s Seminary. My background includes teaching AP English Language and Composition, British Literature, middle school English, and college courses in philosophy, ethics, and world religions.

In addition to classroom teaching, I’ve led after-school tutoring programs, mentored students one-on-one, and worked extensively with learners preparing for the SAT, ACT (English and Reading), and AP exams. I specialize in reading comprehension, rhetorical and literary analysis, and structured writing support—including personal statements and college admissions essays. My approach blends high expectations with encouragement and individualized guidance.

Whether I’m helping a middle schooler find confidence in writing or preparing a senior for college-level analysis, I focus on unlocking each student’s potential to think critically, express themselves clearly, and grow as independent learners.

American History

American History

With a strong background in teaching critical reading and analysis, I help students understand American History not just as a series of facts, but as a complex and evolving narrative. I emphasize historical thinking—cause and effect, continuity and change, and the development of American political and social institutions. I’ve worked with high school and AP-level students to prepare for exams, write DBQs, and connect past events to present-day issues. I support students in building strong evidence-based arguments and historical understanding.
English

English

I am a certified English teacher with over a decade of experience teaching middle school, high school, and college-level English. I’ve taught AP English Language and Composition, 12th grade British Literature, and writing-focused courses across grades 6–12. My approach blends high expectations with clear, supportive instruction to help students gain confidence, strengthen critical thinking, and improve reading and writing skills. Whether you're preparing for an exam, tackling a novel, or building your academic voice, I can help you meet your goals.
Government & Politics

Government & Politics

I help students understand the structure and function of American government, from the Constitution and federalism to civil rights and public policy. My instruction emphasizes key concepts, Supreme Court cases, and how government impacts everyday life. I’ve worked with students preparing for AP U.S. Government and civics classes, offering support with both content and writing skills. I aim to demystify political systems and empower students to engage critically with civic life.
Literature

Literature

With over a decade of classroom experience, I have taught a wide range of literary texts from British, American, and world traditions. My instruction emphasizes critical reading, thematic analysis, historical context, and literary devices. I help students engage deeply with literature—whether it’s classic novels, poetry, or modern texts—and develop skills to write and speak about them with clarity and insight. I’ve worked with students in grades 6–12 and at the college level to build their confidence and analytical voice.
Philosophy

Philosophy

I hold advanced graduate degrees in Philosophy and Theology and have taught college-level courses in ethics, metaphysics, logic, and world philosophies. My approach encourages students to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and develop strong arguments through structured reasoning. Whether you're preparing for a college philosophy course or working on critical thinking skills, I can help make abstract concepts accessible and relevant. I specialize in mentoring students through reading dense texts and refining their philosophical writing.
Reading

Reading

As a certified English teacher with experience across middle and high school classrooms, I’ve helped students of all levels improve their reading comprehension, vocabulary, and textual analysis. I use scaffolding techniques and guided questioning to help readers decode challenging texts and become more confident, independent thinkers. My instruction balances fluency and understanding, with strategies tailored to each student’s needs. Whether you're struggling with nonfiction or literature, I help readers find meaning and grow.
Religion

Religion

I hold a Master of Divinity (M.Div) and an STB from St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore and the Pontifical Faculty. I’ve taught religion at both the high school and college levels for over eight years, covering topics such as theology, scripture, ethics, and Church history. My approach combines academic rigor with a deep respect for students’ personal questions and backgrounds. I help students engage critically with religious ideas while making complex concepts clear and relevant.
Social Studies

Social Studies

With experience teaching both humanities and social sciences, I support students in subjects ranging from history and geography to civics and culture. My interdisciplinary approach emphasizes reading comprehension, critical thinking, and clear writing. I help students make connections between past and present, local and global, and ideas and action. Whether you're preparing for a test or writing a project-based assignment, I can help you succeed in social studies.
World History

World History

I support students in understanding the broad sweep of global history, from ancient civilizations to modern geopolitical shifts. My instruction emphasizes causation, continuity and change, and the connections between regions, empires, and ideas. I’ve helped students prepare for high school and AP World History exams, including document analysis and essay writing. I guide students in recognizing patterns and thinking like historians—not just memorizing facts.
Writing

Writing

I have taught writing to students in grades 6–12 and at the college level, including AP English, personal statements, and philosophical essays. My approach focuses on structure, clarity, voice, and revision, helping students gain control over their writing process. I offer specific feedback and modeling that builds confidence and independence in writers of all skill levels. Whether you're crafting a school paper, college essay, or creative piece, I’ll help you develop your ideas and express them with impact.
