Hi, I’m Ace – a cum laude Duke graduate and current Yenching Scholar at Peking University (2.7% admit rate). I studied International Relations, Ethics & Leadership, and Public Policy at Duke/DKU, and was selected as Commencement Speaker for my class of 500, a recognition of my writing and public speaking.

Over the past 10+ years, I’ve helped students with everything from middle school writing and math to college essays and applications. My students have gone on to top 15 schools including Columbia, Northwestern, Michigan, Boston University, and NYU. Parents often tell me their students feel more confident, clearer in their thinking, and proud of their own voice.

I specialize in:

- College essays & applications – brainstorming, structure, and line‑by‑line edits
- Academic writing – thesis statements, argument, clarity, and style
- Math through Calculus AB – patient, step‑by‑step explanations for students who “don’t feel like math people”

My approach is calm, encouraging, and highly personalized. I ask questions, listen carefully, and then give concrete, actionable feedback. I want each student to walk away thinking, “I can do this” – not just with a better essay or grade, but with stronger skills they can use everywhere.

On the side, I also play the guitar, bass, drums, piano, and sing. I always wanted to be in a band growing up, so I learned all of the instruments that go into one.
