I am currently a sophomore in college majoring in biology on the pre-dental track, which has given me a strong foundation in the sciences. I have completed general biology, general chemistry, and calculus, as well as other courses and I am currently taking organic chemistry and genetics in the upcoming semester. Throughout high school and college, I consistently earned strong grades ranging from B’s to A’s in math and science courses, including algebra and advanced topics such as AP biology and AP chemistry. Being close to the material as a current student helps me explain concepts in a clear relatable way.
Although I am just beginning my formal tutoring journey, I have plenty of experience helping others learn. I’ve worked with my younger siblings, friends, and classmates on everything from elementary-level basics to high school algebra, biology, and chemistry. I also volunteered at Sunday school, assisting children of all ages in classroom settings. These experiences taught me how to adapt my approach to different learning styles and ages.
What drives me to tutor is my own journey with these subjects. In high school, I often struggled with math and felt discouraged, but in college I had a professor whose teaching style finally made everything click, I went from struggling to earning some of my highest grades. That experience showed me that success comes from finding the right way to learn, not just raw ability. I want to be that encouraging guide for students, helping them discover their own best study methods and build confidence in algebra, biology, and chemistry so nothing feels intimidating.
