Hi. I’m Jessie, a new mom, art teacher, and happy traveler! I started my career as an interior designer but soon realized that I loved the group collaboration and not the mindless office work. I switched careers and became an art teacher for the School District of Philadelphia. After 4 years I had the opportunity to teach English in Japan so I jumped on a plane and taught for 3 years in a beautiful rural town.

I’ve moved back to America this August and saw the a wild post-covid learning environment students were forced to learn in and I saw how easily students can slip through the cracks as they navigate virtual learning. If it was me, I would absolutely need someone to help keep me on task and check my work to ensure I’m learning. This is why I decided to tutor elementary and middle school students. I want to help the information to soak in and to help foster new studying skills all without the bickering and arguing (that you might have to do as a parent). Learning should be an engaging experience and sometimes we just need a little help! I hope to be that help for your student, and also give you an extra breath of calm while you’re at work knowing that your student is being accountable for their online learning.

3 years of teaching Phonics to Japanese students who started with basic letters and blended sounds.

Nothing is fun about learning to spell, I make it fun by singing letters and making fun voices to help students to have fun while learning the foundation of spelling words.

Learning is hard when it feels boring. My job is to make your student have fun and gain an understanding of their subjects in an engaging way.
