I earned my undergraduate degree at Rowan University, where I built a strong foundation in education and began developing the skills I still carry into my classroom today. From there, I went on to complete my Master’s in Teaching at William Paterson University, which allowed me to deepen my understanding of instructional strategies and curriculum design. Wanting to specialize further, I pursued and received my certification in Special Education from New Jersey City University. This combination of degrees and certifications has equipped me with the knowledge and versatility to support a wide range of learners, particularly those who benefit from additional support and individualized instruction.

I currently teach in Paterson, New Jersey, where I work primarily with 3rd through 5th grade students in special education settings. Many of my students are performing below grade level, so I focus heavily on meeting them where they are, using methods that balance structure with creativity. I incorporate multi-sensory approaches, scaffolded lessons, and plenty of opportunities for practice and reinforcement, all while maintaining an encouraging and patient environment. Over the years, I have taught in both whole-class and small-group settings, as well as one-on-one, which has helped me learn how to adjust my style depending on each student’s needs.

Outside of the classroom, I am looking to extend my skills into tutoring, offering support to students after school or during the summer. I am available for in-person sessions in the 07430 area, and I also offer online tutoring for families who prefer a flexible, virtual option. My goal as a tutor is the same as in my classroom: to help students build confidence, close learning gaps, and find success by tailoring instruction to their unique strengths and challenges.

Approved Subjects

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

In addition to my other certifications, I am also certified to teach students with Autism. This training has given me the tools to understand the unique learning profiles of students on the spectrum and to provide strategies that support both their academic and social development. I focus on creating structured, predictable, and engaging lessons that build on student strengths while addressing areas of need. With this certification, I am equipped to adapt instruction, use visual supports, and implement individualized approaches that help students with Autism thrive in both one-on-one and group learning settings.
Common Core

Common Core

I am highly experienced and qualified in teaching with the Common Core standards, as I use them as the foundation for every lesson I create and deliver. Each of my lessons is aligned to the standards to ensure that students are not only meeting grade-level expectations but also developing the critical thinking skills emphasized in Common Core. Over the years, I have become skilled at breaking down these standards into accessible steps for students who may be below grade level, while still maintaining rigor. This approach allows me to support growth in a structured, consistent way that parents and schools can trust.
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I am a certified K–6 teacher, which means I am fully qualified to teach all core subjects at the elementary level. My certification reflects both my formal training and my proven ability to design and deliver instruction that meets state and national standards. In my current role, I have taught across multiple grade levels within this range, adapting lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners while keeping them aligned to Common Core. This certification allows me to provide families with the assurance that my tutoring is grounded in best practices for elementary education.
Special Needs

Special Needs

I also hold a Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) certification, which qualifies me to work specifically with students who receive special education services. In addition to my K–6 certification, this credential demonstrates my training in adapting instruction, modifying curriculum, and providing targeted interventions to support diverse learning needs. Being certified in special education allows me to effectively address academic gaps, behavioral challenges, and individualized education plan (IEP) goals. This combination of certifications ensures that I can meet students where they are, whether they need extra support, enrichment, or a blend of both.
