Hello! My name is Matt, and I am a certified SAT Reading and SAT Math Tutor. I tutored math one-on-one while I was in high school and was a frequent informal English tutor while attending college. I graduated from Tufts University in 2024 with a major in International Relations and Minors in Spanish and Economics. I've spent the last two years as an AmeriCorps Legal Advocate in Massachusetts and am currently working on law school applications. I scored a 36 on the ACT and a 174 on the LSAT. I am also a Certified SAT Tutor with the Association of Test Preparation, Admissions, and Private Tutoring.
I take a highly individualized approach to teaching students, tailoring each lesson plan to each student. I focus my teaching efforts on ensuring students understand the topic areas instead of simply regurgitating correct responses. This helps students improve their critical thinking abilities and allows them to better retain information and recall it during exams. Developing such an understanding of the subject matter allows students to tackle any problem that may arise during the exam, and gives them skills they will be able to use for the rest of their lives.
