Hi, I am a Certified Wilson Reading Systems Level 1 Dyslexia Practitioner. I have over 500 plus hours tutoring on Wyzant.com in Orton-Gillingham instruction, phonics and the Wilson Reading System. I am very adept to teaching online have many resources to work with. I have over 120 five star ratings. I am very patient and kind and have worked with many different children with many different learning challenges such as ADHD, autism, apraxia and executive functioning issues.

As part of the Wilson Reading System (WRS) curriculum, I focus on teaching high frequency words, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension skills. In addition to the WRS curriculum, I use GetEpic.com and Reading A to Z reading programs to share additional decodable stories and level readers with my students. As per WRS fidelity practices, each tutoring session is systematically and explicitly taught to meet each student's learning needs, and each lesson plan is designed for the needs of that student.

I have my BA degree from Stockton University, Pomona, NJ. I completed my post-baccalaureate program at Kean University, Elizabeth, NJ where I received by P-3 and K-6 Teaching Certifications. I have worked 12 years in the NJ Public School System as an educator and over 6 years as a tutor both in person and online.

I am a Orton-Gillingham Dyslexia teacher as well as currently getting my Wilson Reading System Level 1 Certification. I have over five years of tutoring experience teaching students with dyslexia and other reading problems both online and in person. I can help your child learn phonemic awareness, decode and encode words plus how to break words up into syllable patterns using Orton Gillingham methods and curriculum. I will teach them high frequency words and practice their reading skills on controlled and connected text. I have a licensed subscription to Reading A to Z for them to practice their reading on level, decodable and high frequency reader books. I received my teacher certifications in P-3 and K-5 from the Kean University, State of New Jersey. I specialized in the Science of Reading Orton-Gillingham multi-sensory way of teaching reading, plus I am currently enrolled in my Level 1 Certification for the Wilson Reading System Tier 3 curriculum. The Wilson Reading System Tier 3 curriculum is the gold standard for teaching the Orton-Gillingham multi-sensory reading method. Though I specialize in the Orton-Gillingham approach for teaching reading, I understand that children learn reading in different ways and I am quite flexible to change my teaching methods to meet each students needs. I have numerous online and in-person teaching resources and my ultimate goal is to have children learn to love to read because if they love to read than reading becomes infinitely so much more easier for them. I am happy to teach other subjects as well such as math, spelling, writing, science and social studies. Again, I have many resources to draw from and can easy teach writing skills such as grammar, punctuation and editing.

I have received my certification from the Dyslexia Training Institute, San Diego, CA that focuses on teaching children with reading problems using Orton-Gillingham teaching methods. I am also currently getting my Level 1 Wilson Reading Systems Certification I can help your child improved their phonemic awareness skills, learn to encode and decode words, break words up into syllable patterns, plus learn their sight words. I have many teaching resources to draw from including the Wilson Reading System teaching curriculum that I can use both online on in person and a licensed subscription to Reading A to Z and Raz-Plus to access level, decodable and high frequency word books for reading instruction and practice.

I am a certified teacher in NJ from Preschool to 6th grade. I have tutored for over five years both online and in person I have many resources to draw from in order to teach your child. I have my certification from the Dyslexia Training Institute, San Diego, CA. Using Orton-Gillingham methods and curriculum and I am currently getting my Level 1 Certification in the Wilson Reading System. I can help your child improve decoding words (reading) plus encoding words (spelling). I can also help them to improve their fluency, vocabulary, and prosody (reading with expression). As well, I can help your child understand story elements such as characters, setting, theme and plot of a story to improve comprehension.

I am currently enrolled in the Wilson Reading System Level 1 Certification program, plus I have my Orton-Gillingham certification from the Dyslexia Training Institute from San Diego, CA. I can teach your child to learn phonemic awareness (letter/sounds associations) to encode (spell words) and to decode (read words) using the Wilson Reading System Tier 3 Curriculum or their Fundations curriculum. I also have many other Orton-Gillingham resources at my disposal to use for your child to teach them how to spell. As well as teaching your child how to break words into sounds, I will teach them word syllable patterns. Progress!

Jennifer has accomplished what almost five years of school and additional resources has yet to do. My son was unable to read and lost all confidence in his ability to even do so. He viewed any additional help as another attempt that was not going to be successful. Jennifer has been successful at helping my son to see his academic possibilities. My son is not only happy to meet with her but is actually reading!
