Hi! I'm Julia- a BSN-prepared Registered Nurse currently working in a Medical ICU, and I passed the NCLEX on my first attempt. That combination matters: I use clinical judgment and prioritization on every shift, and I took the exam recently enough (1 year ago) to remember exactly how it feels to freeze on a question you should know cold.

Most nursing students actually know more content than they think. Where it falls apart is breaking down NCLEX-style questions: prioritizing care, spotting the keywords, and figuring out what the question is really asking. My job isn't to re-lecture material you already have. It's to build the clinical reasoning and test-taking framework that lets you look at a question and know how to attack it.

In our sessions we work through real NCLEX-style questions together including the Next-Gen (NGN) case-study format and I show you the patterns in your own thinking: where you talk yourself out of the right answer, how to eliminate the traps, and how to reason toward the safest, most appropriate action. We focus on why an answer is correct, not memorizing facts, so it holds up under pressure on test day.

I work with:
• Nursing students preparing for course exams
• Students who know the material but keep losing points on the questions
• Repeat NCLEX test-takers rebuilding confidence after a setback
• New grads preparing for their first NCLEX attempt

If any of that sounds like you, send me a message with where you're stuck (and your test date, if you have one) and I'll tell you honestly whether I'm the right fit.

Approved Subjects

NCLEX

NCLEX

I am a registered nurse currently working in the ICU who recently passed the NCLEX-NGN in the minimum number of questions. Because I completed the exam recently, I am very familiar with the current format, question styles, and clinical reasoning expectations used on the NCLEX. I focus on helping students understand how to approach NCLEX-style questions, improve prioritization and test-taking strategies, and strengthen clinical judgment rather than rely on memorization alone. My goal is to help students feel more confident, organized, and less overwhelmed while preparing for the exam.
Nursing

Nursing

I am a Registered Nurse with hands-on clinical experience in critical care and a strong foundation across core nursing subjects. I tutor nursing students in areas including fundamentals, adult health/med-surg, pharmacology, and NCLEX preparation. My approach focuses on breaking down difficult concepts, strengthening clinical reasoning, and developing effective strategies for approaching nursing-style questions. I tailor lessons to each student's coursework, exam objectives, and individual areas of difficulty.
Pharmacology

Pharmacology

As a registered nurse, I have hands-on experience with pharmacology in a clinical setting, including medication administration, monitoring for side effects, and ensuring patient safety. In my ICU experience, I have worked with high-risk medications that require careful monitoring and adjustment, which has strengthened my understanding of medication safety and patient response. My nursing education provided a strong foundation in drug classifications, mechanisms of action, and key safety considerations. I help students understand pharmacology by identifying patterns and connections between medications rather than relying on memorization, while emphasizing clinical reasoning and safe practice.

Outstanding NCLEX Tutor with Effective Test-Taking Strategies

Julia was extremely helpful and patient throughout our tutoring session. She taught me how to identify key words in questions, which helped me better understand what was being asked and improve my critical thinking skills. She also provided excellent strategies for answering priority questions, helping me determine the safest and most appropriate nursing interventions. Her explanations were clear, organized, and easy to follow, and she took the time to ensure I understood the reasoning behind each answer. Thanks to her guidance, I feel more confident in my test-taking abilities and better prepared for the NCLEX. I highly recommend Julia to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, supportive, and effective tutor.

Amazing Tutor

I’m a repeat test taker and felt unsure about where I was going wrong. After my first session with Julia, I can honestly say she helped me identify the areas where I was scoring low and, more importantly, understand why I was thinking a certain way that was affecting how I approached the questions. She broke things down in a way that made sense and created a solid plan to help me prepare for my next attempt. I feel confident that continuing to work with Julia will help me strengthen both my knowledge and test-taking strategies so I can successfully pass my NCLEX and become an RN. I’m definitely continuing my lessons with her.

Supportive and Knowlegable

Julia H. took the time to explain the questions I did not understand and broke down difficult concepts in a way that made the material much easier to grasp. She was patient, knowledgeable, and ensured that I fully understood each topic before moving on. It was a great tutoring session, and I felt supported in a learning environment that encouraged questions and active participation. I truly appreciated her guidance and would highly recommend her as a tutor!
